Hearts Process
These works are made of fused glass. Fused glass is a specialty glass that is cut up and melted together in a kiln at extremely high temperatures. Like the heart, glass can be hard. However, it is also fragile and breaks so easily. Like the heart it can soft when it is melted into liquid. Also, like the heart, glass has the capacity to be either translucent or opaque. It is the most appropriate material to associate with the concepts that these heart artworks are presenting.
